"The Beatles: Get Back" is a momentous docu-series directed by Sir Peter Jackson, chronicling the seminal period in 1969 when the Beatles recorded their final album, "Let It Be." The series breathes new life into this defining era, courtesy of innovative restoration and enhancement techniques that lend time-capsule clarity to the original footage. This labor of love and testament to technological prowess garnered widespread acclaim, culminating in several Emmy wins including Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Sound Editing.

As part of an exceptional sound and music editing team, I was privileged to play a part in this project. Our task was multifold - sync the 8-track studio recordings and the mono nagras to the visuals, restore the audio quality using bespoke machine learning tools, and ensure a consistent musical experience despite the fluctuating tones of the roving nagra recordist. It was a collaborative dance between creativity and technology - reconstructing musical sequences, separating unique character voices, and carefully re-engineering instruments during dialogues to respect the Beatles' intent.

The positive fan response to "Get Back" has been profoundly rewarding, but what's truly groundbreaking is the machine learning technology birthed for this project. It was the first time historically such techniques were used in a cinema piece of this scale.
