Tio Tiamu

To celebrate Māori Language Week 2020, NZSO Storytime presented Tio Tiamu “The Smelly Giant”, a 20 minute performance of combining storytelling and an original live score.

Toe Jam’s feet smell! He is a gentle and clever giant, but the bigger he grows the worse the smell gets. Toe Jam just wants to help others and to be part of his village, but everyone teases him. Will they come to accept Toe Jam for who he is? Kurahau writes a story of kindness and acceptance and is beautifully read in Te Reo Māori by Maaka Pohatu with music from Tane Upjohn-Beatson
